patisserie

a family-owned pastry shop in the 16ème

I met mom and dad in Paris with less than 12 hours between planes, and we managed to squeeze in breakfast at our favorite patisserie. What is nice about Paris is that things don’t tend to change quite as fast as in other places. In a city whose identity is its recognizability, where you walk down some streets that look the same as they did two centuries ago, you can expect to see the same staff working at your favorite café, and your favorite café still open after twenty years of checking in on it twice a year. Small pleasures.
